In an arid and rocky a part of the central Mexican state of Quéretaro, there’s a small city referred to as Escolásticas.

There about 300 folks dedicate their lives to reworking colourful sedimentary stones– often known as Cantera–into items of artwork.

Their sculptures freeze time, and supply a livelihood for a lot of households in a area besieged by widespread unemployment and migration.
CGTN takes us to fulfill the city’s most well-known sculptor, who was born in Mexico City and moved to Esoclásticas as an keen teenager, hungry for innovation.
