MCPD celebrates 100 years of service | WDVM25 & DCW50

Community Day Celebration on Sat. May 14th at midday

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (WDVM) — Montgomery County Police are celebrating 100 years of serving the neighborhood, they usually need you to affix within the festivities.

This Saturday marks the division’s a centesimal anniversary. They’re internet hosting a neighborhood day celebration on the Montgomery County fairgrounds. This is the biggest neighborhood occasion the division has ever hosted.

It’ll embody family-friendly actions, stay music, and police and hearth shows, and it’s free and open to the general public; rain or shine.

Chief Marcus Jones stated, “This is an opportunity to extend our arms and say ‘thank you’ to the community because they provide us with a lot of support with the resources that we have.”

The Montgomery County police power serves 1.1 million neighborhood members with 1,300 officers and 500 skilled workers.
