Congress tells FTC Commanders could have damaged monetary legal guidelines | Information

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. House Oversight Committee despatched a letter to the Federal Trade Commission saying it discovered proof the NFL’s Washington Commanders engaged in illegal monetary conduct.

In the letter obtained by The Associated Press, the committee mentioned the staff withheld ticket income from visiting groups and refundable ticket deposits from season-ticket holders.

The committee mentioned emails, paperwork and statements made by former workers point out staff executives and proprietor Dan Snyder engaged in “a troubling, long-running, and potentially unlawful pattern of financial conduct.”

The committee is sharing paperwork with the FTC whereas requesting the fee take any motion mandatory to ensure the cash is returned to its rightful homeowners.

Congress launched an investigation into the staff’s office misconduct after the league didn’t launch a report detailing the findings of an unbiased probe into the matter. After testimony from former workers, that investigation expanded to the group’s funds.

Lawyers Lisa Banks and Debra Katz, who symbolize greater than 40 former workers, together with some who testified, known as the letter “damning.”

“It’s clear that the team’s misconduct goes well beyond the sexual harassment and abuse of employees already documented and has also impacted the bottom line of the NFL, other NFL owners, and the team’s fans,” they mentioned in an announcement. “We are proud of our many clients who have come forward at great personal risk to reveal the truth and bring us closer to total transparency about the full extent of the dysfunction at the Washington Commanders.”

The staff and league didn’t instantly reply to a message looking for remark.
