5 Baltimore County councilmembers ask college board to think about changing superintendent, Olszewski responds

Five Baltimore County Council members are asking for the college board to think about changing Superintendent Darryl Williams.

In a letter, to highschool board chair, Julie Henn, the group makes a number of accusations towards Williams and contend probably the most fundamental capabilities of a faculty system usually are not being met, and that the scenario has reached a “crisis point.”

They need the college board to conduct a complete and wide-ranging seek for a brand new superintendent earlier than contemplating renewing Williams’ contract.

Two council members didn’t signal the letter, together with Izzy Patoka.

Baltimore County Executive John Olszewski Jr. acknowledged the “legitimate concerns” raised in regards to the BCPS college system operations in an announcement to WBAL NewsRadio.

“The County Council has raised legitimate concerns about school system operations that need to be addressed, and we remain committed to working with BCPS to ensure the needs of students and parents are met. The hiring and oversight of a superintendent is the most important responsibility of the Board of Education, and I trust the Board will act in the best interests of our students and families in deciding on whether to begin a search for this role.”
